The Prince George Hotel receives generally positive reviews, highlighting its excellent location, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. While cleanliness and some dated areas are concerns, the hotel offers desirable amenities like a pool, hot tub, and convenient dining options. Recent reviews suggest a solid overall experience, particularly for events and family travel.
Great stay at the Prince George !! Location is great, at the top of the Halifax hill so everything is walkable ! Stayed with kids and the pool was a HIT ! Pool was Warm and there is a hot tub as well. Front desk staff also gave them coupons for freezies to be enjoyed at their desire- a highlight to our trip. Stayed in an executive suite for 2 nights and a “regular” room the following night (due to availability when booking). The regular room was at the front of the hotel and much quieter due to no noise from the street. The amenities in the executive suite were LOVELY ! Robes where super comfy and the toiletries where great. Staff was great with coordinating the mid stay room change. Breakfast buffet was well appointed and had great options, everything was fresh, try the chia seed pudding !! Coffee was also served with a pitcher on the table, much appreciated when travelling with kids! Rooftop patio was a great spot to chill. Parking is underground and tight maneuvering, but easy to get to and secure. Fridges in the rooms were also a bonus to keep snacks in. Would definitely return and thank you to the wonderful staff for accommodating us!
The staff at The Prince George Hotel Halifax were genuinely kind and helpful. The reception team was very friendly, and the room keepers were also respectful and supportive throughout our stay. However, the cleanliness of the room was disappointing. The carpet felt very dirty, and the curtains were full of dust, which made the room uncomfortable, especially for someone with allergies. Unfortunately, because of this, I would not recommend this hotel for people who are sensitive to dust or have allergy issues.
Perfect location in the heart of downtown, but with easy underground parking. A bit noisy on the weekend with many bars and Roger’s Centre just outside, but not intolerable. Beautiful and classy interior, welcoming easygoing staff, great gym and nice pool. The room was a good size with comfortable beds, good lighting, handy mini-bar area with fridge and well-equipped bathroom. Everything was spotless! We got a great group rate with our hockey team and will definitely stay again next season!
Stayed overnight here recently to attend a mooseheads game, couldn't ask for a better location in regards to local amenities and that certainly drives the price of a room per night. Hallways feel a bit drab and dated and the rooms are pretty standard hotel rooms nothing overly special or luxurious beyond all the little extra toiletries they provide in the room. All in all it was a great stay and its in a prime location for attending events in the area, however at nearly 400 a night there's plenty of other options within the area(walking distance) for a fraction of the price that are in my opinion more luxurious feeling.
Good service Clean room Clean linens. Only complaint is not enough tea pods or teabags and milk . Others wise fantastic Dinner at Gio and great breakfast at the buffet . All in all a very good stay will definately stay again especially when in town for a concert .
My first time staying at this hotel and to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. The main lobby is beautiful, bright and spacious. The staff are friendly, welcoming and accommodating. My room was beautifully kept and tidy, and the bed was SO comfortable. Absolutely not a thing I would change, including the convenient downtown location! Everything is just a short walk away. Would stay here again! 10/10
Our stay at the Prince George was excellent. The hotel is in a perfect location and is surrounded by plenty of gluten-free dining options, in addition to having a great restaurant on-site. The bar staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the pool area was clean and well maintained, and the beds were very comfortable. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we would happily return.
Absolutely not. Why anyone would pay over 400$ per night for extremely subpar is beyond me. Rooms are outdated. FD staff were very rude and unapproachable. The pool has a hot tub and sauna plus the fitness room upstairs. The only perk this hotel has. 0/10 do not recommend, literally at all. Do better or lower your rates, substantially. Nothing to see here folks, move along.
We had a great stay, enjoyed the wonderful food at Gio and the room service was good, with a much appreciated pool, sauna, and whirlpool. My husband was in for surgery, great spot to recover. Note to ask for pillows if you don't want really fat ones, and robes to go to the pool. Best concierge ever helped us get into the VERY low access parking garage (he took off our Thule lugage carrier from the top of the car, and was very helpful beyond measure).
We had a great stay 11/15 for the HFx Holiday Parade; this is a nice location for families and staff treated us well with a toy at check in for our toddler and an upgrade. We used the pool, Crown lounge and breakfast buffet. Everything was enjoyed! As mentioned in other reviews some updates would help enhance this classic Halifax location, the pool is in need of a refresh (or at least a paint and attention to keeping water cleared off the pool deck/a little more cleanliness), pool was also quite cold! Overall we’ll be back and enjoyed our stay.
