The property features clean, comfortable rooms with blackout blinds and a variety of entertainment options, though recent visitors frequently complain about persistent renovations causing noise and lingering odors.
Walls are paper thin. EV charger is not free. Rooms are super comfy and clean. Kids enjoyed the pool. Loved the gluten free bread option (need to be reminded that the toaster needs to be separate). Lots of bfast options yet the kids found it bland. The bar and all the screens were perfect for watching the hockey final.
The location is close to shopping, a reasonable drive time wise from the airport and a quick drive to Halifax and the surrounding area. The rooms were the standard style but offered excellent blackout roll down blinds. Room was clean and well maintained. They have a large area next to the lobby with bar service and a selection of sandwiches and quick foods. Lots of TVs for watching whatever sports you're into. Breakfast was also the standard eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles type of selection. It was very clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The pool area is perfect for those under 6. The water in the large pool was 80 but felt cooler. The water around the slide was cooler than the pool. There are no changerooms or washrooms directly off the pool but there are 2 large washrooms in the hall. Plenty of parking here.
Unfortunately, my stay was impacted by ongoing painting and renovation work during the day. The smell of paint on my floor was extremely strong and unpleasant. When I asked to be moved to another room, I was told that no rooms were available and that a room change might be possible the following day. This was disappointing, as the smell made it uncomfortable to stay in the room. Renovations should be better managed or clearly communicated in advance to avoid disturbing guests. With better planning and flexibility, this situation could have been handled much better.
me and my kids stayed a few days ago coming from nb. the room was nice and clean and they even welcomed us with a few chocolate bars and chips for being a club member. my kids loved the pool and the breakfast was nice and warm the hotel was nice and quite and the check in was quick and easy would stay here again
I stayed for 27 days on a work trip. Rooms are pretty standard, although no hot tub, sauna, or steam room. The bathroom is a decent size, more spacious than the usual cramped hotel bathroom. Construction happening the entire time, some days pretty loud when I was trying to sleep. Im sure it will be very nice when it is done. Staff is friendly.
Popped in for the grand opening of their lounge and I have to say, it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a while. My husband and I sat at the bar. Enjoyed a delicious Blueberry Mojito that he made off menu (it’s my favourite so I asked if he could make it) We spilt the Classic Club & Pulled Pork Sandwich and it was AMAZING. The chicken was so moist and tender, the pulled pork was so flavourful. Can’t wait to go back and try more
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Dartmouth and the room itself was clean, and the staff at check-in were polite and helpful. Unfortunately, everything else missed the mark. The grand opening of the lounge was terrible—disorganized and disappointing. The breakfast was just as bad. Honestly, save your time and skip it. You’re better off grabbing a coffee and a sandwich somewhere else. Not the experience I expected.
We stayed here for one night while on vacation, and it was great. Our room was large, modern, and even felt freshly updated - it even had a new carpet smell. The bed was super comfortable, and the room itself was quiet. The only thing was the shower doors kept opening. But I stuffed a washcloth behind the door, which helped. Other than that, the staff was incredibly nice and would definitely stay here again in town.
If you need sleep. This isn’t the place. Construction bright and early on the weekdays. Fire alarm went off on Saturday when construction wasn’t going. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything going on in the rooms nearby. We thought someone was vacuuming outside our room but it was someone blow drying their hair for what seemed like forever. The rooms were clean and nice. But we missed our sleep.
