The Cambridge Suites Hotel Halifax receives generally positive feedback, praised for its convenient downtown location, friendly staff, and complimentary amenities like breakfast and rooftop access. However, some guests have reported issues with noise levels, parking availability, and inconsistent service, particularly regarding loyalty program promises and bathroom cleanliness.
POV: Avid Solo Traveler I absolutely loved my stay at Cambridge Suites Hotel in Halifax. The hotel was centered within walking distance and near public transportation for all possible excursions. My room (127) was spacious, wonderfully appointed, had a bed comfy, and pillows galore. I even received a warm greeting upon my very late night arrival. The breakfast was above average and had plenty of options for even the pickiest of eaters.
Room was decent, not too much noise from other guests. Desk staff were great at all times of day. Easy checkout! The roof access was cool, great views of Halifax.
This hotel s so convenient for downtown and priced reasonably. Decor is ok. Amenities were good. Only objectionwould be the height of the toilets was ridiculously low. Very difficult for anyone with agility issues. However I was told I could have booked an accessibility suite. Not really needed. Just a toilet at a normal height.
I visited the hotel while I was in Halifax for an emergency surgery for a family member. I called on my way to halifax and they set me up quickly over the phone. No hold time. When I got there check in was smooth. Staff was lovely. The location was perfect (walking distance to halifax infirmery was a pleasant fifteen minutes around the citadel) every amenity was close by. I had to extend my stay twice because of delays in the surgery. Each time this was a simple as asking and getting a new key card. Less than a minute. There was a one year old baby in the room next to me. I heard her in the hallway. But nothing when in my room. There was a group of students as well one night and I expected noise. I heard nothing after 8pm. There were guests with dogs. I never heard them either. The room was extremely clean. Every single staff member had a smile and was helpful. They have laundry facilities on site, coin operated, and they had change and laundry detergent with no issues. I never had to wait for an elevator. The breakfast was always fully stocked and coffee tea and ice water were always available. Both the staff and the facility were perfect during a very stressful time.
We checked into the hotel on April 21st for 5 nights. The front desk staff was great with quick check-in service. Room was decent size and beds and pillows comfy. Location is great - you can walk everywhere. Parking underground was awesome and easy to access. Only drawback was the bath tub drain was slow in draining. Despite of that I would recommend this hotel . Not forgetting breakfast & staff were very nice . Housekeeping staff was wonderful as well. Thank you all??
Was visiting halifax for a mother daughter's trip (3 of us total). We arrived a couple hours early to see if an early check-in was available - However our room was not available, they offered us an upgrade for a minimal charge, which we were going to ask about anyway. Once checked in things went smooth. We did have a minor noise issue through the middle of the night where we heard some loud music in the hallway or neighboring room at 2:00AM on our first night, but did not last long. EVERYTHING else with the trip was great! We enjoyed use of the complimentary breakfast, the hottub / spa area, rooftop access, and the staff were helpful! Great location! We were able to park our car and walk around all weekend long! TLTR: Great location, Great Staff, Good amenities! Hotel doors may not be fully soundproof .. 3 happy ladies at the end of the trip!
I’ve stayed here before and had no issues whatsoever. Unfortunately this time around the parking was an issues because people didn’t have tags. So I was told to park in the reserved parking until I had to move even though I paid 123.00 dollars for parking for two nights (two cars). The worst thing though was we had a good stay but then when we arrived home we received a call from the hotel lobby, stating that they are charging us 20 dollars as the housekeeper wet in and found shampoo all over the bathroom shower wall. I clean Airbnbs and manage the properties and I always clean up before I leave a hotel room. The hotel said they had documentation and pictures from the house keeper. I then asked them to send the proof to my email we are on day 4 (they said they send it right away and by now it’s 4pm and someone else has checked into that room) I got my damage deposit back, and received no emails or proof of the mess. It’s pretty petty to do something like this on the hotel part over 20 dollars when I spent 480 dollars total for two nights with parking plus tax. Not impressed by the service.
A beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious with a small kitchen, the bathroom supplies smells delicious, and the bedding is so comfortable. The Television is a good size and it's placed directly infront of the bed, which is good for late movie nights. The windows are large and let a lot of sunlight in, so there's no need to even turn on the lights once the sun rises. I had to stay in two rooms during my stay due to the need to extend my stay during a snowstorm and both rooms were satisfactory. It has a sauna, complementary water, and free breakfast. A good location as well, because walking anywhere downtown was close to the hotel. Cambridge Suites was worth every dollar for sure.
Just arrived and checked in at the hotel, we booked earlier today, no notice at all about no parking available on site, had to drive around downtown trying to find a place to park that fits a truck. Place is dated which is fine for the cost, but honestly what hotel doesn’t have smart TVs now in their rooms, no one watches cable anymore.
Great location and you can pay for on site parking instead of looking for a garage or street parking. Continental breakfast was clean and good. Rooms were clean and all the staff were friendly.
