The Alt Hotel Halifax Airport offers unparalleled convenience for travelers with early flights, providing direct access to the terminal without the need to step outside. Recent reviews highlight a modern aesthetic, comfortable rooms, and helpful staff, particularly regarding guest assistance. However, concerns about noise, limited amenities, and pricing have been raised.
Alt Hotel inside the Halifax Airport was wonderful. Pretty and clean rooms with very comfortable beds. Check in staff were very professional and eager to assist. Sosta!- on-site restaurant served good food with good service. The best part of staying at Alt was the convenience of literally being steps (actually, covered walkway) outside of the airport. A wonderful option to an early morning flight! We would definitely stay there again.
So convenient! Attached to the Halifax airport, so you don't have to walk outside. Friendly front-desk staff. Room is small. Tables available for suitcase placement. Door is super heavy, and the lever handle is as uncomfortable as gripping a butter knife. Good luck getting out! Shower knob is also impossible to turn. Soap dispenser was empty. Only one switch for the whole bathroom, so you can't leave a nightlight on without illuminating the bedroom. Lobby cafe has limited window screens. Diners and staff had to shield their eyes from the blinding morning sun.
Nice place et very modern. The modernity of it makes rooms look small. If you like traditional style of hotels, It may be a good place to choose. Also, It can be noisy during the night as it is at the Airport. However, it is very convenient if you have to catch an early morning flight.
A massive shoutout and thank you to Manpreet, Anjam and James (maintenance) for the amazing support I received during my stay when my room door got jammed. As an avid traveller, I can gladly say that the staff here are some of the kindest, and most helpful people I’ve ever encountered. Not only are they attentive, but they have a great communication system which enables them to quickly come up with solutions for customers in dire situations. ?? The location itself is fantastic if you have a flight the following day. The rooms are spacious, clean and trendy with artistic paintings across the walls. And for those who are more active, there’s a gym at the ground level which is equipped with the basics to get a good workout in! Overall, I’m pleased to have been a customer here and Manpreet, Anjam and James definitely deserve a raise for their top notch customer service skills??
I stayed at the Alt Hotel Halifax Airport for two days after my flight to Toronto was bumped. Given the situation, this hotel was incredibly convenient and made an unexpected delay much easier to deal with. The biggest advantage is the direct skybridge connection to the airport. You don’t have to step outside at all, which is perfect when you’re dealing with early flights, delays, or bad weather. Check-in was smooth, and the rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable. Amenities included free Wi-Fi, a fitness centre, and an on-site restaurant and bar, which was handy since I didn’t need to leave the airport area. My room overlooked the tarmac, so I could see planes arriving and departing, which was interesting if you enjoy airport views. That said, you can hear airport some aircraft noise, which is a bit of a downside if you’re a light sleeper. Earplugs might be helpful. Overall, despite the noise, the convenience of being directly connected to the terminal outweighs the drawbacks. If you have an early flight, a long layover, or an unexpected delay, this is a very practical and comfortable place to stay.
Quiet room with a great view of airport operations. A couple of parking spots out front for pickup and drop-off. Easy walkway access to the airport with carts available. Food options were nice and the Nespresso coffee maker made the morning much more enjoyable. Would stay here anytime with a morning flight!!
In my experience, the only advantage this hotel has to ie Holiday Inn Express is the walkway to the airport terminal. I don’t believe in paying $150 a nite more for this service. Holiday Inn Express has a free shuttle to airport 3km away which runs every half hour, it has a hot breakfast buffet and no dirty carpets in the room. When I arrived at Alt on Dec 27, the furnace did not work, after freezing for an hour, I decided to let them know. They offered a heater and an extra blanket…. for 350$ a nite, I would expect heat. They eventually did a fix from the backend and it worked. The airline I was travelling with advised that Alt had stress rates for delayed and cancelled flights, when I asked, they said they had none left… For the price, you would think they would offer a free muffin for breakfast, nothing . The restaurant is expensive and the room was very small. Personally, I don’t recommend this hotel because of the price and what you get. I wonder if people travelling for business would book this hotel if they themselves were paying…..
Excellent location. Outside December temperature was -14 C. Phone was not useable for outside calls. The double doors at the ground level only had the exterior doors functional so a bitterly cold breeze was blowing through the first three levels of the hotel. This cold breeze made the small, but inviting, pool just a decoration because you would get a chill going from the pool area to the elevator. Staff were immediately responsive to guiding me through turning on the water in the shower. The modern shower seemed to be designed for an aerospace engineer rather than a senior travelling. Same as the TV. Sophisticated IT skills were necessary to use. Restaurant menu did not seem very appetizing for the prices. Pizza and chicken concoctions. At a high end hotel one would expect a reasonable restaurant menu. A bathrobe would have had been a nice extra to have had, as would have a quilt. It might have been available had I asked but ……..
Conveniently connected to the airport, this hotel allows you to reach your gate without ever having to step outside. The rooms are clean, quiet, and well-maintained. While it is a bit on the pricier side, the convenience of a stress free travel day makes it well worth the cost. Just a heads up, the hotel does not have its own private parking and relies on the main airport lot.
Nice budget hotel for long airport layovers. Rooms are interestingly designed with bad feng shui but are modern and clean. Aviation geeks will enjoy rooms facing northeast on floors 6 and up as they have amazing views of the airport apron and runways. Food options in hotel are really expensive and limited but there are more cheaper options in the airport terminal landside. Hotel is physically connected to the airport terminal and is just outside the bus stop for buses into Halifax. The gym and pool are small but nice with lots of natural light.
