Recent reviews paint a mixed picture of the Hampton Inn & Suites Dartmouth, with significant renovations underway causing considerable disruption and impacting the guest experience. While some guests praise the friendly staff and convenient location, concerns regarding cleanliness, construction-related issues, and facility deficiencies have been raised.
We arrived at the hotel which was being renovated and we were not informed in advance (when we booked). The rooms was just ok, however we woke up to some major condensation around the window in the morning (there was actual water on the window frame). The kids enjoyed the pool, however my youngest son had many cuts on his stomach after using the slide. The spa did not work very well and was not very warm. Breakfast items were often missing on the morning (food, fresh coffee) and had no fruits available (green bananas on the first day). The rest of the food was ok and the staff was friendly, but still would not recommend this hotel.
This place was really gross. They are undergoing extreme renovations on the main floor. It’s an active construction site. It’s not minor renovations as listed on the website. Wires hanging down, walls taken down, plastic sheeting hanging everywhere. No flooring on the ground, just dirty concrete. There was construction dust, mud and dirt tracked everywhere, the elevators and hallways are bashed up and are in poor condition. The place seemed run down, and they told us to eat breakfast on some benches pulled over by the pool because there was no breakfast area. They wanted $268 a night for this - No discount offered? What a joke. We had to find a different hotel last minute. With many other hotel choices in the area, don’t stay here. Totally disgusting, and honestly really deceptive to not advertise extreme renovations or at least adjust prices to account for the horrible state of the place. They really shouldn’t have guests in there at all. It was filthy and unsafe.
I have been thoroughly spoiled during our stay here. A great price for a spacious family suite, a fun pool area, tasty breakfast, snacks, movie night for the guests, and exceptional service. From the guest services, housekeeping, and maintenance staff, they have gone above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. I have stayed at several Hamptons over the last few years and this location has the very best service. Thank you to the Hampton staff for a great weekend!
An absolute amazing hotel. We had the best service here at the Hampton. Everyone was friendly and polite. Went out of their way to provide excellent hospitality. Front desk staff always had the welcome smiles when we entered and always took the time to chat We will definitely be back. We love this hotel
Comfortable and clean room. Right next to the greatest selection of restaurants within walking distance of any hotel I've stayed at. They had it all, yummy breakfast place, casual dining, Mexican, Greek, Canadian stalwarts (Swiss Chalet, Tim Hortons) Irish pub, sushi, etc. If you can't find something to eat when you start at this hotel, I'd hate to travel with you
So this location is great if you want to be close to some shopping as it is right in the middle of Dartmouth Crossing but other that that it is nothing spectacular. There is a pool and hot tub and free breakfast in the morning . Parking spots are quite narrow , rooms still have dingy , stained and dusty carpets in the horrible for anybody with allergies or breathing problems in general. Beds are in need of some replacing as they are not that comfortable . No microwave available in the room . Staff are quite friendly though. With some improvements this place could be great but for now in my book it's just good. Also it is right next to the highway so there are times when it's quite noisy due to the traffic noise.
I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suited in Dartmouth for 3 nights to hors a 3-day training meeting on location. The service was impeccable with great staff always ready to help with a smile. The hotel is also very well located, walking distance from shops, restaurants and a movie theatre. The park just across the highway (accessible on foot), gives you kilometers of nature to walk and explore. Overall a great experience and would recommend
My wife and I recently spent 8 nights at this property while on vacation in Nova Scotia. Our plan was to use the hotel as our home base and do day trips in a rental car to various local attractions. Overall we found the hotel to be clean and friendly, however there were a few items that seemed a bit odd, such as no room safe, no luggage rack and no alarm clock in the room. Staff were friendly. Helpful. The breakfast was ok, a bit more variety would’ve been nice, but it’s a buffet so they did pretty good. The waffles (chocolate & regular) are always good. The pool & hot tub were a nice amenity, when not overrun by kids.
Absolutely Wonderful Stay Every Time! We stay at this hotel regularly for hospital visits, and every time we’re here, it truly feels like a home away from home. The staff is absolutely amazing; so kind, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. They always go above and beyond to make sure we're comfortable, which means the world to us during stressful times. What really touches our hearts is how sweet and friendly they are with my 2-year-old daughter. She’s always greeted with big smiles, and they make her feel just as special as we do. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality these days, and we’re so grateful for the warmth and care we receive here. Thank you for making every stay feel safe, comfortable, and full of kindness. You’re truly the best!
