I can’t begin to express the gratitude that I have for Kate, Lee and staff of the Anchorage House and Cottages. My husband and I were married at the Anchorage House on July 5, 2025 and thanks to Kate, Lee and the staff, our wedding day and stay over the course of the week was the most magical experience. The venue itself is intimate with beautiful scenery and we felt like we were in the comfort of home as we worked on the final preparations for the wedding. Anchorage House and Cottages is a dream venue and though picturesque, the wonderful hosts make the venue truly unique. As a bride, it was remarkable to have the support of Kate, Lee and the staff who significantly reduced my pre-wedding stress because of how professional, organized, accommodating, thoughtful and kind they were throughout the week (and in communication during the year). Kate and Lee went above and beyond and even agreed to play the music for our ceremony which shows how willing they are to make your stay and wedding day special and seamless. Our guests and family felt comfortable and commented on the work Kate, Lee and staff put into the wedding, before, during and after for clean up. I would recommend the Anchorage House a million times over if you’re looking for a beautiful, intimate, and magical venue with exceptional hosts.

Our family reunion at the Anchorage Inn was wonderful. The house and property are so spacious - even with 19 people staying. It was easy to relax both inside and out and the view of the water and private doc were wonderful. We will definitely stay again!

This is our second year coming to Anchorage for our week long family trip and we couldn’t ask for a better experience. Kate makes our stay so easy and wonderful with how friendly and helpful she is. We have stayed lots of places where the customer service wasn’t great and this is the complete opposite. I have emailed asking for a lake where we could bring our Seadoo and she was over at our cottage in 10 mins giving us directions to the closest place. They go above and beyond here making people feel welcome. We love the cottages they are clean and bright. They have extra’s that you might need like coffee, sugar, etc where other places we stayed didn’t. Kate also let us know when the cottages were ready earlier then check-in time so we could arrive with extra time with the kids to swim in the pool. We love this place and will be back each year.

Nestled in the heart of beautiful Hubbards, NS, this spot has become our go-to for a perfect family vacation. From the moment you arrive, you feel it: the warm welcome from the amazing hosts and staff, the peaceful energy of the property, and the immediate sense that you’ve landed somewhere special. The cottages are spotless and beautifully decorated, and the entire property is serene and picturesque. Waking up to sunrises over Hubbards Cove and ending the day with breathtaking sunsets is something we never get tired of. The location is unbeatable. Within walking distance are some of our favourite eats: Tuna Blue, The Shore Club for lobster suppers, the fantastic Maya’s Fish ‘n’ Chips (with ice cream!), and Patio Pizza, a delicious new addition. But the real magic lies in the easy access to Nova Scotia’s stunning beaches—from Bayswater’s turquoise waters to a full-day South Shore adventure at Summerville Beach, where the kids love to bridge jump and we all soak in the white sand and crystal-clear waves. On-site, everything is designed for relaxation and family fun. The kayaks are a great touch, the pool is perfect for slow, sunny days, and the BBQs, picnic tables, and firepits make it easy to enjoy dinner under the stars. The private wharf is great for fishing, and just across the street, there’s a wharf where the kids love to jump in and cool off. Add in a grocery store, farmers market, and liquor store just minutes away, and you really have everything you need. This place fills our hearts every year, and we’re so grateful to the amazing team who run it so thoughtfully. We can’t say enough good things about it—it’s truly a gem. Highly, highly recommend.
