The Atlantica Hotel Halifax offers a comfortable stay with positive feedback on room quality and staff friendliness, but suffers from inconsistent service, cleanliness concerns, and some dated amenities. Recent reviews highlight issues with towel availability, food quality, and overall hotel upkeep.
Upon arrival we were given our room key, pointed to the elevator, and that was it. No itinerary, no pool schedule no breakfast schedule. We asked when the complimentary breakfast was and was told from 7-11am. We came and went from the hotel a few times throughout the day and nobody ever cleaned the room. People were leaving beer cans in the hallway, drinking openly in the lobby (not the bar) and drinking in the halls/ elevator. We asked for more towels at some point and were givin a few more, and still...they didn't take the old towels or make the bed. When talking to the front desk staff it always seemed like we were bothering them. The next day when we decided to go get the "complimentary" breakfast we asked about. We were handed a bill. After asking the waiters about this they shrugged and said it wasn't included in our room. We did get a 20% discount on the food after asking about what we were promised multiple times. Unfortunately for the price we payed, we ate cold, chewy buffet food, with undercooked/ raw in the middle sausage. When leaving we told the staff how disappointed we were, which led to a discount on parking (1 of 2 nights parking was free). Paying 28 dollars a night to park in a hotel where you are staying felt ridiculous anyway. This hotel has so much potential, but was a total let down.
The overall hotel was lovely....we went to the pool no towels to be had..went to front desk asked for some they said they would send someone to fill them up.... when the towel lady showed up she only brought enough for the 7 people that were already there...they had previously asked for some....so by the time we decided to leave she did bring some back. Pool was cold (but I'm a wuss) we both thought so...hot tub was warm at 97° good to be able to stay a bit longer in it. Exercise room had water for guests in the fridge..good location within walking distance of superstore for food and snacks for later.. also nslc for drinks. Rooms were cozy..bed very comfortable..shower was spacious but water pressure sucked...the gel, shampoo and conditioner smelled amazing. No soap for hand washing only body lotion...I wasn't fussy over the scratchy feeling bath towels..pillows were super soft and comfortable. The tiny bar fridge wasn't cold enough for drinks and food had to turn that up. Caution when pulling that out a lot going on back there(dust bunnies..a fork..and crap ha ha) no microwave in our room (kinda disappointed)there is one in the lobby though. We had an incredible view.
Been here like 4 different times, overall fantastic experience and accommodation. The bar/restaurant is good. The restaurant prices are a little high but there hundreds of different fast food/restaurant around. The only thing that bothered me is that the hot tub on floor 2 isn’t the cleanest. Other than that this is a fantastic place
The hotel was lovely. The staff were kind and accommodating, the view out of our window was beautiful, and the room and pool were so comfortable and easy to access. The food at the restaurant was delicious, although a bit pricey. This place was great for a quick booking, I would recommend anyone who wants to experience Halifax to stay here.
Fantastic 2025- 2026 music was superb fantastic but the people at the front desk they get 100% plus plus plus all the way through. I tell you that you need more kind beautiful people just like that Tanya and Tanya that’s right Tanya I’d like to give her 1000 hugs but they tell me I shouldn’t do that this year because of the protocol you know the way things are. Hui at the front guest last night, he was 100% superb. And then we had Chris this morning as a waiter. He was superb. We had him. last year. Cause you know the first real hug ahead during this year was from Tanya will stay with me all year
Very disappointed and this is the last time I will stay here. Service was worst I’ve seen. Was at pool and waited over 30 min for them to bring towels. As well, couldn’t go in to hot tub because water was dark brown. The food was over priced and not great. The last straw is I ordered a krug coffee to room and still not here 30 min later. Spend a little more money and stay somewhere nicer. One positive is kids enjoyed the pool. As well there has been a dirty sock sitting in hallway for 2 days.
Overall, a pretty good stay. Location is a reasonably short walk to the downtown area and hospitals. Both dinner and breakfast were very nice. Room was also quite good, with only negatives being a relatively noisy HVAC unit going off and on, but these are not that unusual in this price range; and a coffee maker that didn't seem to function. Bed was quite comfortable and room had a nice big TV. Didn't have time to try out the other amenities. All in all, fairly good and would stay again.
Clean rooms, super comfortable beds. Lots of room, and a large TV. The hot tub was a residential style hot tub, and was small. Only fits 4 to 5 people comfortably. The pool was nice and the fitness room was small. Location was about 25 minute walk to Harbour area. Lots of restaurants, coffee shops nearby. We were on the 15th floor and could hear traffic from Robie St. which was weird for being so high up. Also, for "4 star" hotel, they only outfit the rooms with plastic cups. Why not a decent glass tumbler?
