This is a great hotel within 1 block from the Halifax Boardwalk, and next to the Halifax Brewery Farmers Market where you can get your morning coffee, delicious pastries, and beautiful artisan gifts. The 8th floor has a beautiful patio that overlooks the harbour, and the 2nd floor has a tranquil garden terrace where you can relax and enjoy the views. I found the blankets to be thin, the room a bit chili, and the pillows too thick for my liking. I was able to find an extra blanket in the closet, but there were no pillows on the thinner and softer side for me.

Room is clean that is it! No real restaurant, yes it’s on water front but so are all the other hotels! I was ready to be pampered this is not it… disappointed. Booked on Expedia; for first time I am not happy :(

HORRIBLE experience. Upgraded our room to have a balcony only to find out it’s at street level looking at a construction site. Went to front desk where we got cold feedback from front counter rep. We tried to change rooms or get a lower rate and were told NO. Said it was explained on the website which it was not. We checked out early and found a better hotel in downtown to finish our vacation.

Having travelled the world over for many decades I very seldomly give a three star hotel, 5 stars! for room, service and location as above and maxed out. The location, practically on the waterfront couldn't have been better in "hilly" downtown Halifax, making for easy walking for the elderly and everything is practically within walking distance. Additionally, and an important fact is cleanliness and here the Marriott Courtyard EXCELLS even more so. The staff is courteous and friendly and the breakfast ( I prepaid for a hot breakfast) couldn't have been better, all in all a total winner exceeding it's competition.

We had a king room and it was great! I didn't hear the neighbors, the parking was underground, the gym was easy to access, there is also a pool + hot tub and laundry onsite. The location was perfect, it's a quick walk to the waterfront and shopping.

The place is clean but not luxury. Fitted sheet on inside out, small tv that offers Netflix and YouTube, that's half hidden from bed, furniture pretty banged up, bathroom was dated, hot water not even close to being hot enough, we could hear other guests through wall, zero art on walls (white walls), pool super small, and the hot tub could barely sit 4 people. There was also a loud heater in the room. Great view and great location. Staff is very nice and friendly. Checked out before we went to bed. That being said...won't be staying there again.

The hotel had big rooms and great service, and the location is very convenient near the Halifax Waterfront. The staff was very friendly and welcoming as well

Great location for being downtown. Staff at the front desk we not friendly at all. I stood in the lobby waiting for help for a while. Rooms are clean and nice but pillows are terrible and bed was very hard

I've stayed here several times over the years and enjoyed my stays, but the hotel is starting to get run down and is in need of refurbishment. The bathtub was very rusty, the bathroom door stuck badly, and the bed was uncomfortably hard. Great location in walking distance to most of the attractions and restaurants downtown, and many of the competing hotels in the same area are also starting to get run down unfortunately.
