The Hilton Garden Inn Halifax Airport offers a reasonably comfortable stay, particularly for travelers needing proximity to the airport. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistent service, maintenance issues, and fluctuating costs, alongside some positive experiences related to staff helpfulness and event hosting.
A reasonable choice in the vicinity of the airport. Front desk staff were friendly and engaged. Routine customer satisfaction checks were conducted via text. The location seems oddly far from the airport for an airport location. Driving to Halifax is a 20min commitment on reasonable highways. Room condition was well kept but the pillow variety could have been better. I asked for firmer pillows and received more of the same soft collapsing pillows. The shower diverter leaked badly when filling the tub. The pool has no hottub. Breakfast buffet is reasonable for $25 but the competition across the parking lot has a nicer selection. Overall, a comfortable experience.
Nice enough but we stayed in a nicer hotel for 1/2 the price the night before. Pros - reasonably clean, reasonably large, decent desk, good blackout shades, location. Cons - First room smoker detector was beeping, second room toilet paper dispenser fell of the wall, towels were tattered, Keurig coffee was in a spot so right it could not be operated without do contortions, lamp cord was fixed with marrets and electrical tape. No bathtub, low water pressure.
We had a very bad experience booking our stay, we could not find the local number and used google to get a number, bad mistake, we got diverted to a booking company from Utah who totally messed things up, gave us a price including tax, we agreed and then they billed us $100 more saying they made a mistake and hit the wrong button charging us in American dollars for a NS Canada hotel 125 klms from our home, the booking, argueing and conversation was 2 hours of bullshit trying to get the first agreed upon price, we still have to wait 5 to 10 days for our refund of the difference if we get it at all! Upon arriving today at the Hotel, the front desk( Shereya) went out her way to serve us and make us comfortable, a few free drinks with our great tasting meal was nice, very helpful wirh my daughter who had dental surgery this week
We were received like kings on a really short notice. The service is outstanding and a shoutout to Shreya for the amazing customer service! She made us feel welcomed and at home after a long and harsh journey. Very greatful for the great job! Definitely , recocommending the Hotel to all our friends!
I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. While the room itself appeared clean at first, there were major plumbing issues. Both the toilet and sink were clogged, and water would back up when used. I reported this to the front desk, and although they said they would look into it, nothing was resolved even after half a day. The pool area was also very unpleasant. It had a strong, foul smell and the water looked cloudy and unclean. The surrounding bathroom was dirty and smelled bad as well, and there were no clean towels available. The elevators were another concern. One was out of service, and the other felt like it was in very poor condition—it didn’t feel safe or reliable during use. The gym area was okay, but it was one of the few positives during the stay. Overall, the lack of maintenance, cleanliness issues, and poor response from staff made this a frustrating experience. I would not stay here again unless significant improvements are made.
Always a good nights sleep here. The beds are comfy and it is usually quiet. The only thing this time was the cleaning staff cleaning loudly the next room early morning.
After a flight got cancelled when I was leaving Nova Scotia, I booked at this hotel, showed up about 5 hours before regular check in time, and despite being very busy due to a storm, they were able to get me into the room 4.5 hours before normal check in. They were very accommodating, staff was all very nice. They were able to make a stressful day a lot less stressful.
It’s takes forever to check in, only one staff at reception. There’s a group check in and takes up the line forever. Terrible arrangement and unthoughtful customer service. After I was given the key, the front staff told me that the hotel is super busy make sure I plan ahead if I hv to catch a flight. Hello! You hear that, management, your staff is informed that these nights your hotel is busy and at 8pm there is only one staff working in the front, hilarious ? Worst part is when I get into my room, the blind is unable to close ( refer photo) outside is a parking lot, I don’t mind people see me naked; wonder if people do
For the second year and a row this facility hosted our small business holiday party. The buffet food was great and the two staff members looking after our small group of 32 were attentive and committed to ensuring our group was satisfied. If you’re looking to host a catered event in the Corridor this facility did a great job. Kudos!
Checked my family in for an overnight visit before catching an early morning flight at the international airport. The actual booking was made online, but called the desk to confirm availability of parking. Was told parking was available and included. We stayed here last year because a weeks long term parking was included, and were given the same impression this time. When checked in the desk clerk said that parking was not included and was very dismissive and disrespectful to a regular corporate customer. We asked to speak to the manager, and were told there was not one available. Will likely not be returning to this business based on the customer service alone. We'll use the Holiday Inn next door. Same price and offers an accomodation and two week long term parking package and clearly spells out the extra for parking longer than 2 weeks.
