Murphy’s Camping on the Ocean offers a unique and memorable glamping experience, particularly suited for those seeking a connection with nature and a peaceful escape. Guests consistently praise the stunning coastal views, comfortable domes with wood stoves, and the helpful, knowledgeable staff who provide local recommendations. While primarily a positive experience, some guests note the reliance on an off-grid setup.
My husband and I stayed in one of the domes for a night and we had a great experience. We were concerned about being cold at night but the outside temperature was well below 0, and inside was very comfortable with the wood stove going. The views were spectacular from the dome and from the hiking trail. The staff were easy to communicate with and ensured our winter "glamping" trip was a success! The winterized toilet seat was a real treat too!
It was our first time staying in a geo-dome and glamping, but an awesome 2 night experience. This was February winter glamping at it's finest. We had views of the winter night sky like no other, and we could stare at the stars and constilations while laying on the bed relaxing. The wood stove made it very comfortable as it was needed this time of year when the sun goes down, and also needs to be maintained throughout the night. It is definitely a place for people that are seasoned in an outdoor lifestyle and have no problem going mostly off grid. It was very peaceful and enjoyable and we'll definitely consider going back another time. R&T Nova Scotia
Kajia is super friendly, and we had some really nice and interesting chats about the area and camping in general. The place is very clean and well-maintained, the washrooms and showers are spotless. I loved the campground so much that I ended up adding another night to my stay. It’s peaceful, calm, and surrounded by amazing scenery!
I read through the reviews and was kind of dreading the bathrooms, but for the end of the season, this place was amazing. I think everyone has to remember that Nova Scotia is in the midst of a 50-year drought. Water was clean, facilities were clean and it was easy to check in. If you are doing plug in power, score 33 or 35 if you can get these sites. We also LOVED the dome. Very cool. A few more instructions on how the Anchor power worked would have been great.
We did the boat tour with Ryan and it was an amazing experience. Being a life long local as well as a member of the Murphy family, Ryan's knowledge and love for the area makes him the perfect guide. I highly recommend the campground for a stay and definitely take the boat tour. We will be coming back to share this gem with our kids and not soon enough
We loved MURPHY’s campground! From our arrival to our final day, Ryan and his staff were very helpful and informative. They knew just what we needed when we asked about brewery’s and grocery’s and even gave us two free coffees at a lovely market on our way to Dartmouth. The market had fresh produce and baked goods along with local fare. As an owner of a family business I can say this family cares a lot about their guests and their property. The natural beauty of the property is ever changing and the quiet atmosphere so relaxing. A real gem!
Murphy’s Camping on the Ocean offers a truly magical experience when staying in a dome tent. The unique design of the tent allows for breathtaking views of the coastline while providing a cozy, intimate setting. The location is perfect for nature lovers, with easy access to beautiful beaches and scenic hiking trails. The amenities are great, and the friendly staff ensure a warm welcome and a pleasant stay. Listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean at night while nestled in comfort is simply unforgettable. Murphy’s Camping is an excellent destination for anyone seeking a blend of adventure and relaxation in a stunning natural setting!
