The Homewood Suites by Hilton Halifax Downtown offers a comfortable stay with spacious suites, including full kitchens and multiple bedrooms, and generally positive guest experiences. While praised for its location, friendly staff, and convenient amenities, some guests have noted issues with cleanliness, parking costs, and limited breakfast variety.
Stay was excellent, very good breakfast and service. Toiletries excellent. Only thing is need thicker ply toilet paper. Only 1 remote when room as 2 TV's. Coffee available always. Filtered water also available always.
A list of things I loved about this hotel as someone who mostly stays in hotels in the U.S. and hasn't stayed in a hotel in Canada for a really long time: 1. Bed was very comfortable and the mattress was fully encased. 2. Device charger next to the bed 3. Magnets on the curtains to keep them closed 4. Clean rooms 5. Nice breakfast and breakfast service. They have a variety of options to accommodate various dietary restrictions 6. Kitchen in the suite was great The small things I didn't like were made up for by this list. The parking garage is expensive, the hallway carpet was dirty on my floor, and the front door was malfunctioning, and the water from the faucet didn't taste great.
I stayed here from April.4 to April 7 2026. I arrived early afternoon the staff was so nice gave me a water and snack and early check in. She also said because my flight was leaving later on April 7 she will give me late check out which was awesome. The staff was excellent service the hotel has a prime location close to everything by walking. The breakfast included is buffet style and lots of variety for all with nice coffee and juice. The room suite was good size with full kitchen king size bed and sofa area. The view was from a 7th floor it was nice. Hotel was connected with The Hampton Inn by Halifax Downtown which is nice you can walk within both main floors.
We were a little surprised at the size of the room based on our family needs/size but Nobu was very helpful in getting us into another room that was bigger and had a full kitchen. Very nice stay and the whole family enjoyed the breakfast and location of the hotel. We will definitely come back next trip to Halifax!
?????????? Wonderful welcome & exceptional service After a long trip and a freezing winter day ??, we were greeted at the front desk by Hedy with the warmest smile. Her kindness and genuine care immediately made us feel at home — this level of customer service is rare. We arrived two hours early, and without us even asking, she told us we could already access our room ??. Those thoughtful details make all the difference. Because of her, Halifax is a place I definitely want to return to. 5 stars — the General Manager should be very proud of having someone like Hedy on the team
I was extremely disappointed with our stay at this hosel. Myself and my son were there for a sports tournament and we stayed for 5 nights. The initial issue was that the lobby and dining areas are filled with mice. I saw upwards of 12 mice running through the breakfast area as well as I saw 2 mice chasing each other through the lower level hallway. When I told the staff they shrugged it off and told me that they had no other complaints but would pass my issue on to the manager. I also had to ask to have my room serviced. I arrived on a Wednesday and on Saturday I had my garbage overflowing and had not had anyone knock or ask if we needed fresh towels. When I asked for someone to visit my room I was told it was too late and there was no one working in housekeeping at that time. It wasn’t until I voiced my concern that they said someone would come and clean my room. It is unfortunate as the hotel has nice large rooms that were perfect for our family, however we will never be staying here again!
Overall the whole family of 5 loved it. We had a king suite with 2 rooms. King bed, 2 queen beds and a couch. Clean and cozy, the view is tremendous. Staff is very polite and helpful. Breakfast lacks healthy variety options but overall was good. The air conditioning system was a little loud in the room, on and off during the night, but bearable. There was a stairway from parking to the entrance , which had some traces of drug/homeless people activities, so be careful at night, not to encounter it. Pool is very small and shallow, good for small kids inly. Overall, very nice. All good places are close by and walking distance. And there is no 13 floor))
Came on vacation for 10days and stayed here. It was a nice hotel for the most part. Cleaning staff was very friend and willing to help. They have a pool area but no hot tub ?. Also they make you pay for parking which I found ridiculous at $28 a day. Not giving a discount for long stays at the hotel. For the price of the hotel and the amount of days stayed here some type of discount should have been offered. See what happens at check out on Sunday
We had a wonderful stay at Homewood Suites by Hilton Halifax-Downtown, Nova Scotia. The hotel is modern, clean, and very comfortable — perfect for both short and long stays. Our suite was spacious and well-equipped, with a full kitchen and all the amenities needed for a relaxing experience. The complimentary breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the waterfront and major attractions. The only minor downside is that parking isn’t included in the room rate, and there’s a $30 daily charge for it. However, considering the comfort, service, and convenience the hotel offers, it’s still a great value overall. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Halifax!
The pool was freezing. The breakfast buffet was limited. Most hotels give you a bottle of water for free. This hotel charges $2.50 per bottle in your room. Despite it being $541 for 1 night. Not great. Even as a Hilton Honours Member. Parking was easy, location to the airport was convenient.
