Lawrencetown Lodge consistently receives excellent reviews, highlighting a focus on thoughtful upgrades, cleanliness, and a relaxing, private getaway experience. Guests rave about the comfortable cabins, amenities like the wood-fired hot tub, and the warm hospitality of the owners, Ryan and Kyle. The lodge’s proximity to Porters Lake Provincial Park and Halifax is also frequently praised.
Loved our stay and would highly recommend. The cottage was perfect… spotless, fully equipped, comfortable and we were welcomed with personal notes and snacks. Even our little dog was thought of. The wood fired hot tub was great!
We just got back from a two-night stay at Lawrencetown Lodge and had an incredible experience. It’s hard to believe this cozy escape is right within our own community. It truly felt like a full getaway. What really stood out were the upgrades. The new owners, Ryan and Kyle, have completely elevated the experience. The cottage was spotless, beautifully decorated, and fully stocked with everything you could need, including plenty of dishes, glasses, proper cooking supplies like pots, pans and baking sheets, great cleaning supplies, indoor and outdoor mats, a thoughtful welcome basket, warm lighting, quality towels and linens, and even a spotless barbecue ready for use. Outside was just as impressive. The wood-fired hot tub was clean and simple to operate, and the new fire pit made for perfect evenings under the stars. The addition of hot tub towels and cozy blankets for around the fire or outdoor use was such a thoughtful touch. We also loved how close it is to Porters Lake Provincial Park. We took advantage of a beautiful day and had a fun bike ride all through the park, and it was so convenient being just next door. Ryan and Kyle are great new owners, and you can tell through all the thoughtful upgrades that they’re truly focused on creating an exceptional experience for their guests. Their on-site boutique store at the lodge, is a fantastic addition, offering apparel, local goodies, and thoughtful extras like toiletries and sandals if you forget anything. They also have a great selection of board games you can borrow for your stay, and it’s nice to be able to stop in and connect with them. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to see their vision continue to come to life. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Lawrencetown Lodge for a cozy, relaxing getaway.
Stayed in the Willow accessible cabin for a birthday weekend late March. We loved it! Perfect mix of rustic and luxury. The location is very convenient being so close to the city but far out enough to get away from it all. First impressions it is a well-maintained premises but still very much in tune with nature. Even though the trees weren’t fully in bloom because of lingering winter, the cabin was nicely nested in the trees with a nice sense of privacy. It was a smooth check in and the owners Ryan and Kyle were there to welcome us personally and ensure we had everything we needed to get into the cabin and get ourselves ready to relax in the wood-fired hot tub. They had started up the tub for us so it was ready when we arrived. The details matter to these owners and it shows, our experience was all the better for their thoughtfulness. Before we hopped into the hot tub we got ourselves into our cute quaint cabin. Walking in you see pretty much everything all at once but the space does not feel cluttered or too full of stuff. Appropriately sized couch and ottoman and table chairs perfect for 2. A cozy queen bed with small night tables on each side. Places for jackets and shoes right at the entrance. Hot tub towels and fire pit blankets are provided with signage so you knew it was ok to take those blankets out by the fire, so thoughtful! I’ve never seen that before. Nice size tv served it’s but we didn’t watch that much. Robes were available for rent but we brought our own. Kitchen with full stove/oven, full size fridge, big sink and other appliances. Everything needed for cooking and eating was right there including cutlery, pots and pans and dishes. There was also a complimentary welcome basket with tasty snacks and we took full advantage! There was also coffee, tea and coffee mate in the fridge ready to go. So many extras we felt spoiled. For a one room cabin this place felt surprisingly spacious! A big plus for convenience there are so many outlets in the cabin and I have stayed in a lot of cabins, you don’t see that very often! The bathroom set up was deliberate with accessibility in mind, a wide door, lots of clearance to get in and out and a large shower with seat and bars. Also bars next to the toilet. Nice shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. Fluffy white towels provided for bathroom and striped ones for hot tub. Didn’t have to worry about having enough towels, we had plenty! Outside fire pit there’s a picnic table and Adirondack chairs and a bbq. Utensils for the bbq also provided. There was minimal noise/sounds in the evenings, when we would go to the hot tub it was pretty quiet outside. You couldn’t really hear others at their sites what was being said but you could occasionally hear others talking. Inside you couldn’t really hear anything happening outside unless you opened a window. I’m saving the best for last- the hot tub. This is a different kind of wood fired hot tub than I’ve seen before. The fire is separate and and there are pipes the water moves through making for a slower and more consistent heat for longer. The tub isn’t huge but it fit two of us plus sized folks with ease. The wood is soft and comfy, no chlorine in the water, just a lovely eco-friendly perk. Getting the hot tub going and keeping the heat going is a process and you need to read the instructions. Don’t wing it thinking it looks simple, you’ll end up with a too hot tub! It takes about 2 hours to come up to temp, the wait is worth it I promise! This feature made our stay extra special, no jets means no noise which was lovely. Check out was just as easy as checking in except much sadder because we had to leave! We can’t wait to come back and would recommend this beautiful getaway to anyone. It is absolutely perfect for couples. Thanks again for a beautiful stay Ryan and Kyle, we will be back!!!
We had an incredible stay at Lawrencetown Lodge and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway near Halifax. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much care and attention has gone into creating a welcoming guest experience. The check in process was really easy. We were greeted with thoughtful treats, and they even had a cozy bed and special snacks set up for our dog Arthur, which made it feel truly pet friendly. The hot tub was already warmed up so we could start enjoying the space as soon as we landed. The lodge itself is beautifully maintained and exceptionally well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. We weren't wanting for anything that wasn't available. AND, if you did forget something they have a supply of pantry items available to fill in any of those gaps. One of the highlights was the hot tub, we took so much advantage of it, relaxing amongst the trees and looking up at the stars. The property offers a great balance of privacy, comfort, and convenience, making it ideal for a weekend escape or longer stay. A big thank you to Ryan and Kyle for their outstanding hospitality, we will definitely be back.
Ryan & Kyle, Family of 4 with kids 10 & 12 had a wonderful stay. If we had to sum it up in 3 words it would be – Cozy, thoughtful, relaxing. The beds are so comfortable, making it easy to settle in for a good night’s rest. The wood-fired hot tub was so awesome, an experience our whole family loved. The welcome basket was such a beautiful touch that shows the care you both put into the guest experience. Even spoiling Tully our Golden Retriever with delicious local treats! The park next door is a great place to explore with a dog, and the little store on site has a beautiful store, with great selection of complimentary board games. We will be back. The MacDonalds
We absolutely LOVED our stay here! So peaceful, serene, and a good way to reset. We even had the whole resort to ourselves! Hot tub was so amazing. Definitely will be back!
Stayed 2 nights in the Pine cabin and was very impressed. Enough privacy from other cabins but didn’t feel isolated. A nice beach and trail within 5-10 minute drive and commutable to Halifax and other tourist areas. Cabin was clean and well maintained and had everything we needed! A great place to stay outside of the Halifax area.
Had an amazing weekend here in November. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. Hot tub was excellent and very relaxing! They were super responsive leading up to the stay and even had a nice hand written welcome for us! 10/10! We will be back!
I accidentally stumbled upon this place, and I couldn't be happier! From our first quick phone call until I left two weeks later, they were so welcoming and did their very best to accommodate my unexpected arrival, and were just very wonderful hosts! The cabins are very clean and very comfortable with such peace and quiet... I could sit on the porch and just listen to the wind in the trees for hours. I love how close they are to everything, and with Lawrencetown Beach being just a few minutes away and Dartmouth being only a few minutes more, it's a perfect alternative to the overpriced hotels in the city! Not to mention the Wood Fired hot tubs were a wonderful added bonus, and they were even kind enough to preheat it a couple of times while I was out during the day, so it was warm when I returned. It really is wonderful to see a young family taking so much pride in what they do! The next time I'm on the East Coast, I will absolutely be stopping by to stay and see them again! Thanks again for everything!
It was our first time staying at Lawrence town Lodge, but it will not be the last. I was looking for a romantic winter escape for the weekend, and I have fallen in love with their private cabins with private wood-fired hot tubs. The location is a short drive from the city, just far enough to escape the busy city and its suburbs and to see stars in the sky, but still a short trip from the city for winter driving conditions. We arrived during a snow storm and immediately our experience was made better by amazing customer service that really helped us out, I am so grateful!! Our tub was already heating up as a fire had been going, which is important because it takes at least 3 hours to heat up these large wooden hot tubs. We were able to soak and warm up shortly after checking in, and despite a snow storm we were a bit sheltered from the wind surrounded by picturesque evergreens and string lights in our private tub. It's comforting to know that this hot tub is off grid, quiet and kept warm entirely by wood fire (wood is provided), so no matter the weather or situation in Nova Scotia winters, you can still soak and enjoy yourself and stay warm. We stayed in The Birch and it was perfectly cozy, comfortable, romantic and suited all our needs for the weekend.
