Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre offers a good location and pleasant views, with consistently positive service throughout stays. While guests appreciate the renovated rooms and amenities like the pool and game rooms, there are concerns regarding cleanliness, particularly related to the hot tub and carpeting, as well as issues with pricing and room amenities like water and comfortable bedding.
Beautiful view. Nice rooms. Great service. Solid dining options. Close enough to use as a home base to explore the south shore (Chester, Mahone Bay). My only complaint is they have built a very nice games room, that no one gets to use. (It's just for bookable events). Maybe let your regular guests have access to the pool table, shuffle board, and foosball table?
My family and I just stayed there and it exceeded our expectations. Beautifully renovated, great service, pool was awesome for the kids, and the outdoor hot tub was a bonus. We will go back!
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms, the service in the restaurant, and the beautiful view and location. We held a birthday party there and the restaurant staff were super helpful, provided seamless service, and the food was off the charts. Thank you...we will be back!
The food was good but I still found it over priced. There was no water in the room for coffee/tea. Live entertainment was excellent. Guy Paul Thibault. Cleaning staff unlocked our door and came in our room while we were in bed before 10am. Checkout is at 11am, so that was a surprise. Otherwise service was excellent.
I am not fancy, so I don't need any service besides the front desk to check in and out. The restaurant is delicious, but so over priced. Find something local to eat instead. The rooms are modest, basic, relatively clean from what I've seen. The water pressure is horrible though. The shower is like a trickle. Beds are a bit weird, no fitted sheets just some kind of pad on the mattress and a super thin flat sheet. Beds are firm, which I like, but others might find it to hard. The pillows are not great for side sleepers, which I am, so the nights are adequate but not awesome. Location is cute and quaint. Very much a typical Nova Scotia experience. Parking is fine, I've never lacked space. They still have basic cable in the rooms. Provide bar soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, shaving cream and make up remover. Hairdryer and towels in the bathroom. No tubs, only walk in shower. The place is dated but we'll maintained. The only thing I'd wish they would update are the carpets. Carpets in general are disgusting, no amount of vacuuming is going to get them clean. They should change these to laminate like motel 6. Far cleaner and easier to clean.
We were made to feel special just for being there. From the wait staff in the restaurant to the front desk and everyone we came in contact during our three day visit, we were treated like royalty. Access to the game rooms, exercise room and pool area left us wanting to stay longer. Love, love, love you guys.
This has been a terrible experience. We came for a family vacation with our two children and the music at night was so loud no one could sleep. When we asked for a quieter room the room we were offered was one that smelled strongly of smoke. The hot tub was dirty. There was excrement/feces (human? animal?) on the hot tub/pool deck. We stayed 4 nights and it was never cleaned off. We are often in the area visiting family but we will not come back here again. We are extremely disappointed.
