Oceanstone Seaside Resort offers a blend of spa experiences, cottage accommodations, and coastal views, receiving mixed guest feedback. While many praise the friendly staff, stunning locations, and luxurious spa treatments, recurring concerns involve noise levels, limited capacity in shared facilities, and inconsistent quality in amenities and food. It’s particularly best suited for winter visits.

This is a spa only review, I’d like to give it a two star (and a half maybe) for the below reasons: Pros: staff is friendly, it’s easy to schedule, it looks clean overall, locks seem safe enough. Location - closer to Halifax and Tourist Attractions. Nice hair and face products. Cons: (and the reason why I wouldn’t return for a spa day) It was loud, and I mean… LOUD. The small hydro spa is under a parking lot, and the day I went, a big produce truck arrived and parked on top of the spa and started to unload and make a lot of noise. Not only that, people were talking all the time, nobody from the staff cared to enforce the policy, people were talking inside the sauna, in the pools, and there was a group laughing and screaming around a fire pit (I am not kidding, they really screamed and were laughing for a long time, and FYI: it was not a social day). It stressed me out so much that it defeated the purpose of going to relax. I left early and did not complete my spa day because it was annoying. It’s expensive for what you get. Another concern is that a day or two after my visit, my pinky toe developed some sort of sore under it, maybe fungus but I am not sure yet because I couldn’t go to the doctor yet. It hurts, it’s split now and I am annoyed. I can’t say for sure it’s from the spa but that was the only place I’ve been that is not my home. So even though it looked clean enough, it might not have the highest standards of hygiene (I am not going to share a picture because it would be gross lol). So beware. The pools are small, the hydro area is also small (although cute), and while I am not very disturbed by their sizes, when a random couple decides to start sitting on top of each other, hugging and talking as if they are in their bedrooms while you are sharing the same small pool, it gets very uncomfortable. I guess people suck in general, staff doesn’t care, and you have to be lucky to be at the right time when people with common sense are sharing the space. I was very unlucky. The only place I had some peace for 5 minutes was in the sauna, because I was lucky to be by myself not surrounded by talking groups for those precious minutes. That’s it, I can’t recommend, I am sorry. I really am, because if I had had a good experience, I would return more often for being so close, even if small and overpriced.

Recently stayed at Ocean Stone Resort and Nordic Spa with friends. Staff were fantastic, and made us feel really welcome. Stayed in one of the cabins, views were absolutely stunning, the rooms were neat, tidy and provided everything we needed, the complimentary breakfast was delicious. The Nordic Spa experience was amazing, first time ever experienced, thoroughly enjoyed it ,so relaxing. I would highly recommend this Resort if you want to go away somewhere where you have stunning views and a wonderful experience. We are going to make it an annual getaway!

We had a lovely spa & stay experience for my birthday! My partner and I stayed in the Bunkie, which is a tiny cottage at the top of the hill overlooking the spa with an ocean view. It's very cozy, but had all we needed for a night's sleep. A complimentary buffet breakfast was included in the bistro, as the restaurant was still undergoing construction. It was simple selection, but did the trick. The 3 hour spa experience was amazing and I can't wait to visit again!

We visited with family and friends as a group of six in the evening. The weather wasn’t the best that night, but it actually added a romantic vibe to the experience. Even though there were several groups, the place still felt calm and quiet, which we really appreciated. We arrived around 7 PM and stayed until closing at 9 PM. Although it was a short visit, we truly enjoyed our time, especially the hammam, which was a highlight for us. The receptionist and staff were very helpful and friendly, making it easy to ask for assistance whenever needed. Everything was well provided for: a free locker, two towels, toiletries, and even a plastic bag for wet clothes. I also appreciated their flexibility with my advance booking..they adjusted my GC upon arrival and refunded the difference without any hassle. It’s definitely best to visit during the winter or colder weather for the full experience. We hope to be back soon!

This place is absolutely stunning and very close to the city. The rooms are tastefully decorated and clean and the spa is beautiful. Staff are friendly and attentive. We had one minor issue and Sarah went way above and beyond to compensate for it. We will be returning here again for certain.

We had a day visit with the spa. While the spa pools, sauna and steam room were clean and lovely it was over capacity for a smaller spa. The day was not relaxing had we had to wait for an opportunity to use everything because of the capacity level. Besides that the robes are absolutely shameful. The robes were like rags. Literally falling apart some people didn’t even have belts for the robes. Come on Oceanstone - do better!

We stayed at the Captains house. We have stayed in a lot of places and I think this was my least favorite. The bed in the photo was atrociously uncomfortable and lumpy. The floor joists you could see from the bottom floor were so incredibly dusty and dirty. It was hard to not stare at it the whole time we were in the living room. Also, there wasn’t a table to eat at lol. There was very little furniture for a house as big as it is; sleeping several guests. There were two small poor quality love seats to sit on. Definitely not enough space. We felt like we were sitting on each other and there wasn’t even a chair to pull out into the room. I am thankful we only stayed one night. The spa: One of the pools was broken down. So out of only two warm pools, we could only use one. The other was a cold plunge. The wet sauna we went into smelled like cat pee. The dry sauna was great. I felt like there wasn’t much to do there, tbh. If I wasn’t there with my friends, I’d have bailed. I met another woman there that left early because she was not enjoying it. The saunas and the one warm pool were always packed. By the time we were half way through our 3 hour time slot at the spa, our robes were heavy and freezing cold wet. There were no spares. Also, no extra towels. We went to the included breakfast an hour before it closed. There was barely anything left to eat. The servers were terribly forgetful and a few of us didn’t even get what we ordered. The selection was rough. Some toast and mini boxed cereals, 2 slices of pineapple left, eggs and bacon and yogurts. You could also order waffles or eggs. We did but didn’t get them. ???? I don’t think I’ll go back.

We love staying at Oceanstone. The price to stay in one of the cottages is fantastic & includes the hydrothermal circuit & breakfast. We had a snowy two nights in by the ocean and the wood fireplace. The staff are amazing. Super close to Halifax & the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway.

We had a spa day and it was truly luxurious and just what we both needed. We noticed that even on a frigid winter day, there were plenty of workers checking the hydro circuit for temperatures, safety, and maintaining the fire. I was so impressed with how smoothly everything was running. Huge shout out to their whole team, they're doing something special. Definitely worth going to the circuit, even in negative temperatures!

The cottage we rented was beautiful; right on the ocean. The service was 5 star everyone was so kind and helpful. The location allowed us to really explore the east Coast of Halifax. The spa was beautiful and cozy even in December. We really enjoyed our time at the ocean stone and thank everyone there for the experience.
