Can't believe it's taken me this long to come here. One of the only places I've been where you enter and truly get transported to another place - a cozy respite from cold, desolate Gottingen street. The standing bar by the fireplace, with live music drifting in from the other room, was a comically perfect environment, I don't think I'm ever going to want to wait for a table more than at this place. Which is good because it was incredibly busy even for a Monday night. Food and drink were all delicious, and our waiter was great. What a good freaking vibe in here. A converted historic-home to pub, deep in a residential neighborhood, is like the greatest enemy of a Dartmouth crossing Boston pizza. So happy I know about this place, excited to come back.

Went to The Narrows Public House and my friends and I all ordered the fish and chips for our mains. The portions were big, the fish was nicely battered and crispy on the outside while staying flaky inside, and it came with a good amount of fries. It was a classic, comforting dish that definitely hit the spot, though it didn’t completely blow me away. The servers were also really cool and friendly, which made the whole experience more relaxed and enjoyable. Overall, a solid place for a laid-back meal with good vibes.

The establishment’s design and decor are thoughtfully curated, creating an inviting and super cozy atmosphere with a warmth that made a lasting impression. Food was excellent, complemented by outstanding service. My mother ordered the fish and chips, which she described as among the best she has ever tasted. I chose the croquettes and was thoroughly impressed. Additionally, the presence of historical books nearby provided an enjoyable distraction while we waited, which was not long. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and I look forward to returning.

Won a gift card to here and wow this is such a gem of a place. Would be an excellent spot to bring visitors from outside the Maritimes, as the atmosphere has a very charming homey NS vibe. Got the grilled romaine salad to share, it’s was delicious but the portion felt a bit small. For mains we got the fall hash and sausage dinner, the fall hash was soo good! Portion sizes were just right, and they came with some really nice brown bread and pickles. Definitely worth going!

The moment I walked in, I was hit with this immense warmth and I fell in love with this place. The design and decor is so intentional and cozy. The food is exceptional and the service was top notch!!! (Anthony was our server). The fish and chips were the best I’ve ever had, the devilled eggs with a side of sardines, their wedge salad was so delicious and their sticky toffee pudding is a must try! We went back again later that evening for their live music. I would fly back to Halifax, just to dine here and fly back home. It was just that memorable!

Had heard great things about this restaurant and gave it a try when visiting Halifax. Walked in and there was wait - host wasn't sure of wait time, but this is busy restaurant and hard to predict. We had 8 groups waiting in front of us and we were seated in around 40 mins. The food is really as good as people say it is. DELICIOUS! I've never had better fish and chips. Crispy and perfectly seasoned. The ice cream and tart dessert was mouth melting. The Lake City cider was delicious. The servers and host were great and constantly on their feet in what was an insane rush for a Wednesday evening. The decor is beautiful - the inside of a house decked out as a restaurant! Everywhere you look there's something new to see. You can tell a lot of care was put into this place. Word of advice- no one picks up the phones (likely because they're busy) but just wanted to mention that. All in all - amazing experience and cannot recommend enough !!!
